Beauty Services Making Our Residents Feel Fabulous

It's so important for us, as a long-term care facility, to offer services that enhance our residents' quality of life, give them a sense of independence and allow them to keep the normal routines they would typically have outside of our facility. Allowing our residents to look and feel their best is a special kind of service that Glen Meadows proudly offers.

Every Wednesday, Glen Meadows gets the pleasure of welcoming Jenny Downie and her beauty services. For twenty years, she has made those who reside here feel beautiful, not just cosmetically but mentally, spiritually, and emotionally as well. Jenny has befriended many residents over the years, and they look forward to her weekly visits. She not only cuts, perms, and colors their hair but also lends an ear to listen to them, give a little advice, and share a laugh or two. This is so important to those in our care. A familiar, friendly smile goes a long way to bring cheer to their day.

Jenny began cutting her grandmother's hair at the age of twelve with a double-edged razor and has not been able to put the beauty tools down since. When asked what her favorite haircut is, she replied, "A short one." Jenny displays a passion for her lifelong career, and it shows in how she takes pride in the services she delivers.
